Features of Horizontal Lathe Machine
1. Lathe frame, bed and oil sump adopt integral casting structure with high rigidity and good anti-vibration, which meets the characteristics of high-speed cutting machine tools.
2. The bed box adopts three support structure, and the three supports are tapered roller bearings, the spindle is easy to adjust, with high rotational accuracy and good precision maintenance.
3. The feed box is equipped with a metric thread conversion mechanism, with convenient and reliable thread type selection.
4. The slide box is equipped with a conical clutch safety device to prevent the automatic tool from damaging the parts after overloading.
5. There is a four-station automatic feed mechanical stop device in the longitudinal direction of the machine. The longitudinal length of the workpiece can be set by adjusting the longitudinal position of the cam on the stop bar to realize the longitudinal sizing of the part.
6. The tailstock is equipped with a shifting device to meet the needs of drilling and reaming.
7. The lathe lubrication system is reasonably designed and reliable. The front box, feed box and slide box are sprayed with lubrication, and pipeline pump and plunger pump are added for automatic forced lubrication of special parts.

What is the working principle of a Horizontal Lathe Machine?
The lathe is one of the most important machine tools in the metal processing industry. Its working principle is to process parts by rotating props. The cutting tool is fed into the workpiece, and the workpiece rotates around its own axis, thereby forming the workpiece into the desired shape.
Structure of Horizontal Lathe Machine
It consists of the following parts.
1) Bed saddle
It is connected to the slide box and can be moved longitudinally along the bed rail, with side rails on it.
2) Medium sliding plate
It can be moved laterally along the rails on the saddle.
3) Turntable
It is fixed with the middle slide with screws, which can be loosened at any angle in the horizontal plane.
4) Small sliding plate
It can move along the guide rail above the turntable for a short distance; when the turntable is deflected at a certain angle, the small slide can feed the turning cone obliquely.
5) Square tool holder
Fixed on the small slide, it can hold four turning tools at the same time; when the locking handle is loosened, the square tool holder can be turned to change the required turning tools to the working position.
6) Tailstock
The tailstock is used to install the rear tool tip to support the workpiece, or to install the drill, reamer and other tools for hole processing.
The tailstock mainly consists of sleeve, tailstock body and base.
By turning the handwheel, the sleeve can be adjusted to a certain distance and the tailstock can be moved to the required position along the bed guide to meet the requirements of different workpiece processing.
8) Bed
The bed is fixed on the legs of the bed, which is the basic support of the lathe.
The role of the bed is to support the main parts and keep their relative positions during the operation.
9) Screw
The screw drives the large slide frame for longitudinal movement and is used to turn the thread.
The screw is one of the main precision parts in the lathe, and it is usually not fed automatically by the screw to keep the accuracy of the screw for a long time.
10) Light bar
The light bar is used to transfer the motion during the motorized feed.
The motion of the feed box can be transmitted to the slide through the light bar to make the tool holder feed longitudinally or laterally.
11) Joystick
The joystick is the control mechanism of the lathe.
The left end of the joystick and the right side of the pallet are equipped with a handle, so that the operator can easily manipulate the handle to control the spindle forward, reverse or stop.

Lathe parts
(1) G-trunnion box
Gear box is used to change the speed of spindle.
It mainly consists of drive shaft and drive gears.
The spindle can reach 12 different speeds by changing the position of the gears or clutch by manipulating the gearbox and gearshift handle on the outside of the spindle box.
The reversal of the spindle is achieved by the reversal of the motor.
(2) Spindle box
The spindle box is used to support the spindle and allow it to rotate at various speeds.
The spindle is hollow to facilitate the passage of long workpieces.
At the front end of the spindle, a tapered hole can be used to mount the tool tip, or a chuck and turntable can be mounted on the tapered surface at the front end of the spindle to clamp the workpiece.
(3) Hanging wheel box
The hanging wheel box is used to match the gears with different numbers of teeth to obtain different feed speeds.
It is mainly used for turning different types of threads.
(4) Feed box
The feed box is used to change the feed speed.
The spindle moves through the crane wheel box into the feed box. By moving the variable speed handle to change the meshing position of the sliding gears in the feed box, different speeds of the optical rod or the fillet can be achieved.
(5) Slide box
The slide is used to change the rotation of the light bar and the fillet bar into the automatic feed motion of the tool holder.
The light bar is used for general turning and the screw is used for threading only.
There is an interlock mechanism in the slide box so that both cannot be used at the same time.
(6) Tool holder
The tool holder is used to clamp the turning tool and move it longitudinally, laterally or at an angle.
